ABOUT THE WORK
Apokrisis Consultants, Inc. was founded by Valerie C. Williams, a former Director of the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the U.S. Department of Education, where she oversaw IDEA implementation and federal funding across all states and territories. Prior to OSEP, she served on Capitol Hill working on disability policy and civil rights, and led government relations and federal policy advocacy for a national association representing state special education directors, advancing federal policy on behalf of the very leaders now responsible for implementing it.
Her perspective is grounded in both deep policy and systems expertise and in the lived experience of a parent who has navigated these systems firsthand.
